Expansive Permission
Expansive Permission is a multidisciplinary arts initiative exploring permission as a passage to shape our presences– transmuting shame into wellness through experiments in embodied pleasure and creativity. This work is imagined and maintained by Kollin Kirven and me.
We originally began this project to return to the version of ourselves that lived from creation to creation–and felt proud of each artistic undertaking.
As we grew closer to the world and further away from ourselves, we spent many years wondering how to reclaim this unbridled joy.

“You must be an actress,” implored the booming voice of industry veteran, Robert Allan Arno, a few seats over in a Center City cafe. The question danced over my skin, simultaneously activating my fingertips and my lips. I thought that version of myself had been buried. Over a few months, we continued to talk, and the fruits of our time together can be found below.
Am I an actress? Much in the same way that I am an artist. If I believe the words, I simply must be.
